About Me

I'm a web developer and people lover with a degree in Computer Science and minors in Psychology and Cognitive Science. Basically, I was pre-built for social media even before it was a buzz word. I find it fascinating.

Follow Me: @cheyennejack
Blog: CheyenneJack.com - Social Media, Mktg, SEO, Healthcare and the ATL.

I have launched 4-5 successful niche social networks. My first is my most random niche and yet most successful.

www.MohawksRock.com

In two years its had 5 Million pageviews from 183 countries. Thats a lot for just gathering people around the abstract idea of a hairstyle.

We are almost to 3000 members now, but here is a link to a story about our 2000th member and how I've seen the site grow from a small group of friends into a town and into a city with its own neighborhoods and government structure that seems to naturally form.

Auto-Follow, Stopping the Madness

So I made an egregious mistake way back in the day (aka probably a few months ago) and I signed up for some brand spanking new Twitter service with bells and whistles galore.

One of these services was that they would monitor keywords I was interested in and find veins of people to follow etc. automating my follow process.

I STRONGLY urge you not to do this… Continue

What's up Cheyenne!

Took your advice and wrote some info about myself on my page. I just overlooked it the first couple times I logged in.

I also saw how the page said Adrian Childers left a comment for Adrian Childers. Reason I think is because Jay and Erika left a comment regarding my status update, so this is where the link sent to my email inbox took me to leave a comment as well. So I'm thinking they might have received a notification that I replied to one of their replies. Will follow up with them if I dont hear anything back.

So you seem to have some experience building social networks. Do you use Ning as well for all the previous sites you have created? Any opinion about Jomsocial?

Thanks for the tips!
